My ancestor Sarah Wright Shepherd Ransom Davis, came to Ohio when 5 (or so
the book says) was born 1789 in london, Eng. She married Capt William Davis
after the death of Theophilus Ransom [father of my ancestor Lydia Ransom Buchanan]
and they had two children, Sarah and Sophia who never married and lived all
their lives in Adams Township. The third child was Jesse W Davis whose bio
from, "Samuel Davis, of Oxford, Mass., and Joseph Davis, of Dudley, Mass., and
their descendants", I am posting.

Willard Davis son of William and Drusilla Olney Davis married Caroline
Sheperd daughter of Sarah and her first husband Jacob. I will be posting the
material I find in this book about Washington County Davises.

DAVIS Willard H. Resides at Lowell, Adams Twp Washington Co, Ohio, with his
mother; owns a good farm in Jasper County Indiana but is unable to cultivate it
not being in vigorous health. In the autum on 1869 began a drug business at
Harmar, Ohio in partnership with his brother in law, George W. Reed; Sold out
in about a year and returned to Lowe... In 1875 he began there the business of
a photographer, but does not confine himself to that vocation; has been
village clerk; is norary public and secretary of the local Grange. He has esthetic
tastes and is a gatherer of relics and curiosities of which he has a large
collection, especially of Mound builders relics; is interested in genealogical
research and has furnished much information for this work.
