Peggy Topple sends the following information:

"At long last we finally have the information for the war brides and
their families to book hotel space in Ottawa as follows:

Hotel: - The Westin Ottawa - 11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa ( very near
the Canadian War Museum).

Rate: - $ 109.00 (Single/Double rate) per night plus taxes.

How to Book: telephone - 1800-937-8461 or 613-560-7000 & ask for 'WAR
BRIDE GROUP RATE'. - available for stay on May 11, 12, 13th, 2007.

Any problems, be sure to contact me.

As far as booking space with VIA Rail for train travel, Via Rail
suggest everyone call our toll free # (1-888-842-7245) or book on
line - check various fares & book the best available fares - there
are some sale seats - again if anyone is not sure what to book by
train, let me know (902-494-7919) & I will be happy to help. Many of
the war brides are telling me that they would like to travel on the
same trains together (e.g. - those persons from Southern Ontario can
connect onto the same train from Toronto to Ottawa on May 11th). - If
anyone is unsure of what to ask for, feel free to contact me
(902-494-7919) & I will help to answer any questions."
