David
I will try to help, but if she didn't sail to Canada in 1946 or very early
1947, I can't do much as she won't be on my database. You have about 20
possibles at the moment? I don't mind trying but you need to give me the
names of the grooms, and the Christian name/names of this lady. Also you
need to give me her home address. If you don't already have the surnames of
the grooms, you need to cross reference them with the bride name - ie if
Mary Smith is shown in the register as marrying someone surname Brown, you
will need to note down the reference number (district and folio) then hunt
through the Brown marriages (goodness I hope it's not really Brown!!!) till
you get a match on the reference. That will be the cross referenced entry
for the husband's name. (If she was living away from home, the records still
usually give the home address.) Hopefully we might get a match.
If any of the family still live at that home address, please send it in
private mail for privacy reasons.
