Remembrance Day War Brides Wreath
Here in London, Ontario war bride Olive Moran will be placing a wreath on behalf of war brides at the cenotaph during the Remembrance Service...a first in our history. I hope this is something that will be done across the country.
Last weekend the Ontario government invited a number of war brides to help at their booth for seniors at the Britannia Show in London. Photos of the show can be seen at

That's me with MPP Ramal and some of the weekend group. I had just been presented with a certificate from Minister Bradley re my involvement with war brides during this special year. Though much appreciated, the greatest "reward" is speaking, communicating, and meeting with so many wonderful women and now 2 war grooms. And to think I had not knowingly met a war bride until author Linda Granfield connected me with one this spring!! (married to a veteran of the Regina Rifles even!!)
Looking forward to meeting as many as possible on the TRAIN & in Halifax.
All the best
Dolores
