I see no similarity between the War Brides arriving in Canada and the
Lebanese Cdns. returning to Canada. In some cases the Lebanese had been
absent from Canada for many years, from choice. I don't remember War Brides
criticising Cdns. regarding conditions on the ships or the waiting periods
many of us accepted without complaint. We were grateful for all the Cdn.
Govt. had done on our behalf. After all we had endured bombing, rations
and fear for many years, what did a few discomforts matter when we knew it
was all in a good cause, our husbands. IK
