Subject: What an exciting letter!

It was about 60 years ago today that we received our letter from the
"Canadian Wives' Bureau, Civilian Repatriation Section" giving us the
travel instructions for our trip to Canada. After a separation of about
8 months my mother, sister and I would travel to Canada to reunite with
my father who had been repatriated after VE-Day to train for the war
against Japan. The letter gave us plenty of time to pack (about 5 days
-- but we didn't have much!).

We still have the letter -- I can't attach a copy to this email, but if
