Subject: Did you marry a Regina Rifle?
Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2006 17:16:53 -0500

While I'm sending messages, here's why I'm delighted to be participating on
the website.

This letter printed in the London Free Press Reader-to-Reader page which
resulted in a number of contacts may explain my involvement:

I'm a member of Royal Regina Rifle Regiment Association researching the
individuals who served with the Regina Rifles during WWll. I attend the
annual reunion and am acquainted with veterans across Canada who were
Reginas. There are many others though who have not had contact with the
regiment or their buddies for many years. It has already been a pleasure to
facilitate the re-connection of a number of men with the regiment and their
wartime friends. My search continues.

Please contact me if you were with the regiment, are a family member or
friend of a Regina Rifles veteran, or have any connection to someone who
served in the regiment. It would be very much appreciated by all concerned.

Thanks

---------------

FYI: My serious involvement with the regiment began when I found over 100
letters that my uncle Glenn Dickin had written home before he was killed.
Those letters have now been a part of Look To Your Front, by Gordon Brown
And Terry Copp (a regimental history in the form of first person accounts
1944-45) and Ten Days to D-Day written by David Stafford in which prairie
soldier Lt. Glenn Dickin is a central character. The latter book was made
into a 2 hour film of the same name that was shown on The History
Channel...everywhere except in Canada. The internet provides many references
to the author, books and film

Several war brides whose husbands were with the Regina Rifle Regiment have
already contacted me through the grape vine, and I would love to hear from
more. It's a pleasure to be in the e-mail company of so many remarkable
ladies.

Dolores
