Did your mother come from South Shields?
As for the program - I can't really help as it could have been one of
thousands. I might guess however at it having been part of the series called
"All Our Yesterdays" which didn't deal solely with war but was tracing the
history of Britain via newsreels of each period - there was a long series of
wartime episodes. But that is only a wild guess - there were so many that
showed men being entertained by singers and I can't think of a way in which
you could isolate just that one.
