I arrived in London on the 28th June. Returned yesterday July 21st Was a few
blocks from Edgware Road Station when one bomb went off. Was going to the
Edgeware Rd Post Office. As a Londoner I am so proud of the reaction taken by all.
Wish I could explain the feeling of not seeing one bus on Oxford St. Looked
like every thing went like clock work. Buses rerouted. Mobile phones down
etc.Took my nephew 4 hours to walk home from MOD to Enfield. Next day things were
getting back to what ever you could call Normal. I had invitation to the
unveiling of the Womens Memorial. Reception with the Queen after and to the
celebration at the Horse Guards Parade on the 10th July. Even got on BBC TV because I
was in ATS uniform. Nothing could take away those wonderful memories. Trying
to catch up on all the news from " WARBRIDES" Best of British Luck to all. Rae
