cabbage rolls, petaha , studenets, and corn on the cob, that I boiled for
hours and still couldn't get it cooked enough to put a fork through it , and
a poor Husband who got fed eggs for breakfast, egg and bacon pudding for
lunch ,and eggs with salad for supper , and for a change there would be
other egg dishes the next day ,untill one lunch time he looked at lunch and
started to crow like a chicken,'' I got the hint '
'and do you remember when you bought a chicken you had to ''pull it '
sometimes finding an egg inside , but nobody told me there was a crop to be
cleaned, and when we had had our feed from it I made soup ,could not
understand where the straw in the soup was coming from,
foods I missed steak and kidney pudding ,spotted dick , mixed grill, bread
pudding ,treacle tart, all of which I can and do make now 'and my favorite '
rock buns ''cheer's Hazel
