This message from Hazel 'bounced' to me as the listowner as she had
forgotten that she had already unsubbed when she sent it.

If you read right to the end you will see that she tells us she is going
to have major surgery next week.

I am sure everyone will join me in wishing her all the very best for a
speedy recovery and we hope to see her back here as soon as she feels
ready.

I have just finished listening to the programme. Yes, there was
loneliness, deprivation, loss of family and the awful realization of
what we had done. Like many others, I could not go home because of lack
of opportunity. However, I think we have gained in the end. Many of my
children and grands have university degrees or other training of a high
calibre which would have been impossible in Britain. They have good jobs

and are raising their children successfully with the help of husbands or

wives.
I believe the best future for all of them is here in Canada rather than
Britain which has slipped sociologically, culturally and economically. I

was in London 3 years ago with a sense of overwhelming nostalgia for the

war and all that had
happened at that time. I was also thankful to not be living there and
grateful that I would be returning to Canada to be with my loved ones
here who have made my life so rich.
Thank you for telling us about the programme. For some reason or other
I tuned in at 1:50 pm. It came on after some other 'argy bargy! (old
English expression) I really enjoyed it.

Hazel - I have had to unsub from War Brides because I am having major
surgery next week. I will get back on when possible.
