Hello Bev
The Queen Mary made two February voyages - the 4th and the 24th.
Allowing for a turn-around time in port between voyages of an average of
four or five days, the Queen Mary would have needed to arrive back into
Southampton no later than the 20th February. The Scythia meanwhile, with
a complement of Canadian brides, had left Liverpool for Halifax on 18th
February according to her passenger list. The timing, and the fact that
for the most part they were travelling different routes, means that
their paths probably crossed on the 19th as the Scythia was turning out
into the Atlantic and the Queen Mary was preparing to begin her turn
towards the English Channel.
