Subject: My Mom is a war bride from Belfast
Date: Fri, 20 Aug 2004 20:42:13 -0700 (PDT)

My Mom came to America on the second sailing of the Henry Gibbons. She is going to be 86 in Oct., and I would like to hear stories from other war brides or their children so I can share them with my Mom. She has wonderful stories to tell about the sailing and the war. I would be most willing to share them with anyone who would be interested. She has a picture that my Grandmother cut out of the Belfast Telegraph and sent her, which shows my Mom, along with other brides just as they were ready to sail. We are some of the luckiest people in the world, to have this wonderful piece of history to share with others. My sons are fascinated by some of her stories. I will answer all e-mails. I have been trying to locate anyone who would know some of my Mom's relatives, but she was an only child, and my grandparents died in the 50's. She may, however, have a cousin still living in Belfast. Thus far I have had no luck in finding her. If anyone has any suggestions, they would !
be most
appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Catherine
