Do any of the warbrides that travelled on the QM during 1946 remember a crew
member, whose name was Edwin, but went by the nickname of Pedlar?
Pedlar worked on the QM from 1945, firstly with the Canadian and American
troops, then the movement of thousands of warbrides.
Pedlar remembers a warbride being taken ill, and a seaplane was called to
take her on to a New York hospital.
Pedlar also remembers "the rubber stamp" used for marking the landing papers
of warbrides which said "undesirable to land in the United States". This
stamp was used when war brides were caught with crew members, by the ship's
security. He worked for many months transporting war brides.
If anyone remembers this crew member please let me know.
