Hello there, many thanks for your reply. Aunt Madge was born and married in
Hartlepool, but I have no idea about the intervening years. Her mother, my
grandmother Elizabeth was divorced from my grandfather, and it is said, left
Hartlepool and went to work in London??? I am thinking that perhaps Madge
joined her after the death of her husband and that is where she met her 2nd
husband. There are as yet no clues as to where Madge and her mum lived
between Madges' birth and marriage.I have a newspaper cutting of Madges'
marriage stating that she was the only daughter of Elizabeth and John
Clayton but Elizabeth never remarried. The marriage I have found for Madge is
in Dartford, Kent which is classed as London (sort of) but I suppose she
could have lived and met her husband anywhere really. my kind regards Ann
