I came to Virginia, on March 26th, 1946 via New York from Southampton,
England and the Tidworth disembarkation camp. The ship was a military
transport which had been used to previously bring home the U.S. military.
other ships plying this same route and bringing back"brides" that I remember
being discussed were the Queen Mary, Elizabeth and U.Ss. Washington. My ship
was named E.B. Alexander. It had been confiscated in W.W. One from the
