My mother told us of the time (1946) she came here (USA) after World War
II. I know that she said that she came here on the Queen Elizabeth, the
sister ship to the Queen Mary. I do not know for sure the exact date,
but her name is Kathleen Mavis LaBarge (Merchant) and she traveled with
my sister (Carol Ann) from England to New York. From what I can
remember about the story, my sister would have been 2 years old and this
took place after World War II was over. My father had served in England
and France and he was born in New York. His name is Gilbert Alvin
Labarge
