It was posted on 12 August, right in the middle of holiday time, so yes -
Merrill, you may want to post your message again. As I've mentioned a few
times, just because a message doesn't get a response the first time, do post
again... we have a very mobile subscriber base, so your message might have
much more luck second or third time around.

By which I mean, and I have to stand by that too, that with so few
subscribers there is only a very small chance of making contact on this list
at this present time, and I know from private mail that this is what people
are unfortunately expecting to happen. Yours is a very valid point of
course, and one with which I agree wholeheartedly, hence my further
comment... PLEASE post your interests to the list because all the messages
are archive immediately, and who knows who may come along next week, next
month or next year, and find exactly the connection they are looking for.

There are I am sure numerous people compiling lists of warbrides and with
similar useful information. There is also Michele's site at
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/9710/WarBrides.html - Michele is
one of our stalwarts who posts from time to time and often updates her site.
I really do hope that listmembers do pass the queries on to the network
(which I know does exist, as you say). The name of the person who is
compiling the Burtonwood lists might be very useful either now or in the
archives - you are most welcome to post it here, Jim with its own subject
line to make it identifiable.

No! When I set up the mailing list fourteen months ago, I arranged to have
all messages archived. They are available via the usual Rootsweb page at
http://www.rootsweb.com (for all mailing list archives) or directly to
Rootsweb's archived Warbrides list archives at :
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/warbrides

Hope this is useful
