Dear Ladies,

I guess I'm on this list by mistake. I saw WARBRIDES and thought it
would be all wives of servicemen from WWII. My mother was the young
bride of a member of the US's 82nd Airborne paratroopers. His name was
John Ray and he was killed on DDay. I've just completed reading the
over 300 letters he sent Mother. It was very touching; very sad. I
realized that their story had to be repeated thousands of times all over
the US and other countries, as well. I thought this is what we'd
discuss.

I confess, I didn't know about the Warbrides ships. I'm sure each of
you have some wonderful stories to tell. I'm going to hang around to
learn what I can from all of you.
