I apologize for resending this, but forgot to put in a subject on the last
send and fear that many will not open that message.

I am attempting to help a Frenchman locate his father. He has recently
discovered that his father was an American who served with an MP unit in or
near Oran, Algeria in the months prior to November 1943. The man's
grandmother destroyed letters to the mother in order to prevent the intended
marriage and the departure of the mother and son for the U.S. Unfortunately,
these facts did not come to light until the grandmother's death. The father
in question, Richard Gray, called Dick by his friends, had a friend named
Mike. Gray was almost 6 feet tall, with light brown hair and blue eyes. His
dress uniform was a khaki jacket make of silk cloth. He had a cap and wore
high shoes and gaiters. Please let me know if you can provide any
information regarding this man's father. Even the identification of the MP
unit would be extremely helpful!!
