Subject: [VINTAGE-PHOTOS] Old Photo Question
Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2006 04:42:56 GMT
I can answer your question of why people in old photos like in the 1800's look so grumpy . An elderly man told me years ago that it was because most of them had no teeth . The teeth would rot and fall out and so they kept their mouth closed and it made them look grumpy also the photos took a long time to be taken and they were not comfortable and maybe tired and thirsty .

Hi Stephanie,
Wow. Just last week I also received such a gem. The subjects of the photo
I received were born about 1806-1810. Needless to say, I am thrilled as
well.

On a side note - my 15 year old asked why all the people back then look so
grumpy. I told him it's that they had to work ALL day and then when they
come home, they don't have any video games. Ha ha.
