Hi Lisa ,
I also was given a book of photos from my father's side of the family
and except for a wedding picture of my grandparent's and one of my
grandfather as a child on a pony , I had know idea of who the people
were . I did find out later that the child on the pony was my
grandfather so I just started taking the photos that I had where I knew
who the person was and would go to a copy place where I made the face on
the photo , such as my grandfather as an adult , the same size as the
ones on the man it the photo book and checked every part of the face and
I was able to idea a lot of them that way .
As for the pin , yes it is possible for that man to have such a pin ,
people back in those days did very fine work of that sort then .
I have been doing a deep study on womans clothes by using my post cards
of the early days , I have about 6 shoe boxes full , some being as far
back as 1900 and I have come to the conclusion that except for the very
well to do , the best people to check in a photo are the teens and young
adults as they are the ones most likely to have the more modern cloths ,
not all of course . If you could send the photo onto my email , one at a
time . If its small please enlarge it as I have a vision problem, I can
try to give you a guess as to the date . Please do not send more then
one at a time on each email as I have WEBTV and can't handle more then
that . Well I hope to have been some help .
