As far as I know, faded photos themselves cannot be restored. There are
multiple ways to preserve the image however. You can scan them and then
repair in photoshop (or some other similar software). You can have a
professional do that for you as well. Or they can create a negative and
do the preservation that way. Another way is to take them to one of the
newer Kodak Picturemakers that are located in drugstores and copy
centers. You can find locations by looking at the Kodak Picturemaker web
site. There is a feature that you can use in the Edit Photo
section.called "restore color". This will restore the image of the
faded photo (black and white or color). I use it with all my faded
photos and dark tintypes.
