Subject: Using PAF5 sources

I am looking for help with the "sources" section of PAF5 and decided that
Utah list was probably my best bet.

After years of research and entry I decided I had best do it correctly,
especially since I am a subscriber to Ancestry.com census and want to use
those records as sources.
My problem is the following:

1890 Census for Anywhere:
John Smith - head
Jane - wife
Jack - son
Jill - dtr

1900 Census for Anywhere:
John Smith - head
Jill - dtr
Mary - dtr
Mary Brown - mother-in-law

What I have done is to use the 1890 Census as an "Individual Source" for
each person named in that household.
The same would apply for the 1900 Census.

My problem is that I get too many source records duplicated when I print a
"Family Report".
Each and every person in the family would have the same source (i.e. 1890
Census) with a different number pertaining to that source (i.e. 1890
Census).
In other words: John Smith (individual source: 1890 Census - would be
listed as 1.)
Jane (individual source: 1890 Census - would be listed as 2.)
Jack (individual source: 1890 Census - would be listed as 3.)

When one gets to the 1900 Census the family members have totally changed
and perhaps Jack - son is married and living elsewhere. So I doubt I use
the "family source" under the marriage records.

Can someone please advise this "dummy" as to how I should go about this
recording of sources to eliminate duplications within the family.
What I want is for each and every member to use the same # 1. for 1890
Census: #2. 1900 Census, etc.

Looking forward to help.
Thanks
Claire
