Maybe I'm looking at this idea a little differently than others, but I don't
see this as a group of specific 'designated' speakers for the project
although that could be done for major events. Almost any member can be
called upon to speak for a local genealogical society or historical society
at some given time.
I see this as more of a resource for members who may be called upon to do
just that. What if this were a collection of data and materials available
to the members should they receive that call? It could include some bullet
points about the project to help in that presentation, hand outs, pamphlets
or literature on how to find things, etc.
I know that it would have helped me on occasion when I was asked to speak.
There were always questions that I couldn't answer because I didn't have
that specific data at my fingertips. We've got members everywhere, why
would we want to limit ourselves to a few speakers when we have thousands
over the country who may need little more than a little help, guidance, and
information on the 'big picture' of the project?
