Greetings from Toronto:

The Ontario Cemeteries Act (Revised) applies to all graves of human bodies
located anywhere in the Province of Ontario from the days of the earliest
settlement to the present time.

Your District Library (which is NOT necessarily your local library) will
have a copy, as well as the Ontario Statute Citator, and the Regulations of
Ontario, which you will also need.

The Regulations outline how the Act of the Legislative Assembly of the
Province is put into effect ("regulated") and provides the specific details
/ rules of how an Act works.

The Citator tells if you The Act itself, or any Sections or Sub-Sections of
an Act have been amended or added since either the Act came into effect, or
since the last Consolidatation of all the Acts (usually done once every ten
years).

If you have any concerns about how a burial location is being treated, or
being threatened, do contact:

Cemeteries Regulation Unit,
Registration and Licensing Office,
Marketplace Standards and Services Branch,
Policy and Consumer Protection Services Division,
Ministry of Government Service,
Government of Ontario
32nd Floor,
250 Yonge St
Toronto ON M5B 2N5

A Compliance Officer or other official will explain the complex procedures
involved, and who does what, in a case such as you are describing below.

Hope that this helps!

Cheers!
