I am hoping to obtain information and or advice in finding the year of arrival in Caledon Township, Peel County Ontario of an ancestor.
He was born at Chittlehampton Devon in 1818 and is next found at his marriage in Nov. 1845 at the Congregational Church, Alton village Peel County Ontario.

My research seems to indicate that he arrived here in the period 1836-1844 but I have not found any confirmation for this.

I am interested in finding the date, port and ship that he sailed on from Devon and maybe the port of arrival here in Canada. I feel that the ports of Barnstaple and or Bideford might be consisdered.
