Dear Bill,
I found my ancestor in the microfilm: Register for Fiats - Military
Emigrants. MS 693 Reel 119
Volumes 96-97.
I don't understand the Headings of some of the columns, such as the 2nd one
looks like CO, the 3rd looks like AGO and then the 2nd to last column looks
like number of description. His is (425 ME)
My question is, are any of these of any significance and if so how do I
interrupt them? If you know personally or know of a reference that I can
go to, I would greatly appreciate it.

The CLRI shows Mark Hewitt, a resident of Bathurst at the time of his
application , was granted the opportuntiy to settle in Bathurst on the ne
half of lot 5 in the 5th concession. Pemission was given by a Free Grant
because of his militia service and was issued as a location ticket on 4 Feb
1824. An Order-in-council was issued, awarding the patent that gave him
private ownership of the property.
Your website has been a great help to me in finding records of family.
Thanks,
Carol Madsen
