My name is Al Webster and I am researching the Webster family
who arrived in Canada at two separate times, all are Quakers. The
first line arrived in Canada 1789 at Niagara. Abraham Webster and
wife Anne Lundy and children. A brother of Anne's, William Lundy
and his wife Nancy Silverthorn were early settlers in Niagara and
Lundy's Lane is named after this family as well as the Battle of
Lundy's Lane fought near or on their homestead. Abraham and
Anne settled on Lot 8, Bertie Tshp. (I think) fronting on Lake Erie
and were very active in Quaker business at Pelham and Black
Creek. Later Abraham and Anne and at least part of their family
moved to Newmarket,Ontario 1802/04. Various members then
moved on to Pickering,Ontario, Uxbridge,Ontario.etc.
The second line Hugh Webster and wife Sarah Moore arrived at
Pelham (Niagara) around 1818 and moved on to the Quaker
settlement in Norwich,Ontario.
Any help or additional info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Al
