I am new to the list and am posting the following in hope that someone else
may be researching this same family.

Florello COON was born in Lower Canada (Quebec) Dec. 6, 1822. His father
was Daniel Coon and he had several siblings, but I do not know their names
or his mother's name. In the 1848-50 Canada West census (Ontario), he
appears as "Coon, Florello and Company" in the Grenville/Prescott region.
He moved
before 1850 to Philadelphia township, Jefferson Co., NY.

Florello was married about 1849 to Lydia who died about March, 1858,
leaving a child, Silas J. Coon. That year, Florello moved west, married
Anna Bennett in Atchison Co., MO, and then settled in Otoe Co., Nebraska,
by 1860. In June, 1860, Anna had triplets, Daniel, Gideon and Austin, who
died in their infancy. Twins, Hulbert Simeon and Sarah Ann, were born in
1862, and a daughter, Lydia Priscilla was born in 1864.

In June, 1866, the Coon family moved to Carroll Co., MO, where they remained
until about March, 1882, when they moved to Cherokee Co., KS--their residence
until their deaths. Florello died Nov. 7, 1891. Anna died Aug. 12, 1900.

I will look forward to sharing information on this family with any who are
interested.
