Thanks so much for the tip. I checked the book , Jewetts of America, and
found no Jacoxes or Jaycoxes but five Sages and thirteen Sargents (in the
index, at least!). Maybe the Ja(y)coxes concentrated on another line of
Jewetts(?) - or perhaps appear in the "additions and corrections", which I
would have to go through line by line since there is no index for that
section. But now I will keep my eyes open for these names as well.
