Billy,

I just noticed the reference to Jane JAMES from your post. Do you have any
information about her? I've worked the family of Aaron JAMES a Revoluntionary
War Veteran who acquired land (ca. 1804) on Dry Branch a tributary of Yellow
Creek in what is now Houston Co.

There was also a JAMES family at the headwaters of Wells Creek in what was
Stewart Co.

Then another JAMES family (Enoch JAMES) also located in Dickson County but I'm
not sure about the location.

I've tried without success to tie these families together. Most of my research
has been on Aaron JAMES but none of these families are connected to my JAMES
line to my knowledge.

Census records of 1800 (Pendleton Dist. SC) suggest there was a daughter of
Aaron JAMES and the date you have for the marriage would work based on the
information we have on his two sons, Abel JAMES and Enos JAMES.

Anything connecting with you?

Russ James of Houston Co. TN
