I just thought that you might be interested in this book called "Tribes that Slumber"
by Thomas Lewis and Madeline Kneberg. Inside the front flap maps the indian locations known on the Tennessee River to the Cumberland in the Middle Tn. area. Of course some of the places were years before your time frame of your family floating by. But one of the places noted was Stewart County Burial site, which was located on the banks of the Tennessee where the Big Sandy River comes into the Tennessee ( current location near the Bridge on Hwy 70/79 that crosses the river just at Paris Landing Park. Your family must have floated by these indians.

I believe that Endimon Baker is my Edmund Baker whom I believe is the son of
this Absalom Baker. This is the same Absalom who is the father/grand father
of John Armstrong Baker.
THANK YOU !
