Remember Hawkins County Grainger County Tn AND Sullivan County Tn where Washington County North Carolina before Tennessee Statehood. So if some one is still alive 1850 Census in Tennessee and says they where born in NC it could be they were born right there in Hawkins County Ten.
Tony
Descendant of Hudson Johnston of Hawkins Co. Tn whose deeds are registed for Carter Valley in 1783 are in Washington County NC ( He lived right there in Hawkins COunty Tn see founders of Rogersville)

I don't know if that is correct or not--i.e., Andrew Johnson being the father. The William Brown from 1850 Greene County, MO was born in NC and his wife and family were born in TN. So, it seems likely that the Greene County, MO William Brown lived in TN when he married Hannah. If Andrew Johnson moved to NC, then there could be some truth to it. If he didn't, then it isn't likely that he was the father of the Greene County William Brown. It may only be the will that mentions her--Haner in the will. The will is online at the Hawkins County genweb site at:
