Tony and Peg.....
There is another Bell family you need to be aware of in Davidson/Williamson Counties.
From "Schetches of North Carolina Historical and Biographical Illustrative of the Principles of a Portion to the Early Settlers" by Rev. William Henry Foote published N.Y. 1846
"in a letter toDr. Alexander wilson, of Caldwell Institute, says,"sometime between 1755 and 1760, Samuel Bell, with his brothers and son-in-law-Donnell, removed from Pennsylvania, and settled in the forks of Hico. they were strict Presbyterians, and were soon supplied with preaching by a Mr. Black, afterwards yb Mr McAden, from the lower part of the state."

This is my Bell family. Samuel Bell's brother, Capt. Robert Bell is mine. They moved from Pennsylvania to Caswell Co.,N.C. to Guilford Co., N.C. where Robert was living during the Rev. War and was a Capt. After the war Robert moved his very large family (19 children) to Williamson Co., Tn.
He was married twice ...had 6 children by 1st wife Catherine Walker: Mary; Samuel; Ann; Robert; Catherine (a twin)
Married 2nd Mary Boyd in Guilford Co., N.C. and had 13 more children: John; James; Hugh; Daniel; Francis; Sarah; Rebecca; David; Thomas; Abraham; Nathaniel (mine); William; Jane.
Capt Robert Bell was given a land grant in Tennessee for 2,568 acres, and they were in Tennessee after the Rev. War was over.
Brother Samuel also was in Davidson Co., Tn.
Have not found any connection between my Bell family and Montgomery Bell except both families came from Pennsylvania.......

From "Settlers & Intruders On Cherokee Indian Land"
17 May 1803 Robert Bell and JAMES JOHNSON are permitted to go to the foot of the mountain & to the Crab Orchard & to tarry there during their conducting with propriety in assisting in keeping houses of entertainment and David Crawford, Joseph Carrol, William Kerr, BryanBailey & Presley Petty as labourers at either of those places.
(my note: don't know if this is Capt. Robert (Sr.) or Robert Jr.)

With so many Bell males in Davidson and Williamson Co. it is going to be a task to find out who any of the Bell girls belonged to!!
I got lucky and Nathaniel left a will naming my Mary Bell in Williamson Co., and none of his brothers has a Mary near the right age......I had a time figuring out who she belonged to, and still would probably be looking if the lady at the Williamson Co. Archives had not narrowed them down for me by where Nathaniel lived, and the Jordan family that Mary married into.

Hope this info will help
Love Mary
