These are very old newspaper clippings.... with the actual date cut off...
sigh... but this is what I have:
Obits:(when these were cut and saved they didnt save the date of the
newspaper... sorry...)
Ernest Calvin Ethridge of Guthrie Ky. He was 48 and died of an accident ...
He also had a service at Wavelry Tn, and burial was in McEwen Tn Cemetery.
Survivors were his mother Mrs. Jennie Foster Ethridge,Guthrie; two sons,
James and John G. Ethridge, Guthrie' a daughter Mrs. C.T. Adams, McEwen' a
borhter Hardin Ethridge , Nashville and two Sisters, Mrs. Odell Dunaway,
McEwen and Mrs Adale Graves, Guthrie.
Obit Lee Bannie Brown 83 retired Humphreys county farmer died here yesterday
at the h9ome of son L>L> Brown, after a long illness. Graveside services at
the Coleman cemetery, the Rev. Walter Cottrell officiating. Mr. Brown was a
native of Humphreys County son of Elec and Elizabeth Dotson Brown. Surviving
are another son, J.L. Brown McEwen' 8 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren
Elton Lee Burgess
Succumbs Monday. Funeral services for Elton Lee Burgess, 53 were held
Wednesday Sept 7 . Services at Maple Grove Baptist Cruch conducted by Harley
Tidwell and John Lampley with burial in Maple Grove Cem. Dickson Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mable
Burgess' daughter Mary Carylon Burgess, both of Dickson, two sons, Neil
Burgess of waverly and David Lloyd Burgess, sister Mrs. Westell Riley, six
brothers, Truman, John Preley, Eugene and Carl R. Burgess of Dickson, Elbert
Burgess of Danville KY , Will Henry Burgess of Mt. Clemmons Michigan and
three grandchildren.
