William Allen received 640 acres on Old Town Fork of Yellow Creek as a land
grant from North Carolina, prior to 1803. William Allen of Richmond Co., Ga.
sold land to James Brown of Warren Co., Ky., in Robertson Co., on the west
side of Yellow Creek and the south bank of the second fork of Yellow Creek, 10
Oct 1803. Witnesses; Thomas Stuart and John Shute (possibly Choate).

William Brown of Dickson Co., conveys to William Allen of Williamson Co.,120
acres in district 1, land on Beaverdam Creek of Turnbull Creek. 15 Feb 1811.

William Allen was on the muster roll for a Tn. Militia Co. under the command
of Capt. Joseph William's, 1st Tn. Militia, Dyer's Regiment, from Sept 1814 to
March 1815.

William Allen from the lower part of Dickson Co. was a soldier in the First
Seminole War from Dickson Co. Enlisted; 31 Jan 1818 at Camp Blount and was
discharged 30 June 1818.

This taken from the "Dickson County Handbook."

According to "The History of Dickson County," by Robert Corlew. Christopher
Strong and Daniel Leech owned a distillery on Johnson's Creek prior to 1820.

Among the oldest citizens on the 1850 Dickson Co. census was Gustavus Rape and
Christopher Strong. Strong was 90 and had come from Ireland into Pennsylvania
and then moved southward. His wife Rosannah, was 66 and a South Carolina
native.
