Hello out there! I was just reading " The Historical News" it's a paper
printed by the "Southern Historical News,Inc" that I picked up in a quick
stop. I have seen these before but not lately and it's a free paper with
historical info. in it. I haven't thought about this in a while and after
reading it had a couple of questions now that I wonder if anyone out there
knows the answer to.According to this paper-- " What is the entire state of
Tn. was a territory of North Carolina until after the Rev. War. In 1788,
Davidson County was divided, forming its own unit, and ALL the land that lay
west of this, including present day Robertson County, was called Tennessee
County. The three counties Davidson, Sumner and Tennessee comprised the Mero
District of North Carolina. In 1796 Tennessee County ceased to be a county
and was divided into two new counties they were Montgomery and Robertson."

Now here's my questions--- Are there any records from what is today Dickson
County located in Robertson County?? What ever happened to the records from
what was Tennessee County, are they at a court house somewhere in the state
of Tn?? What about "Mero District North Carolina" anyone ever ran across
records from when we were part of that at a court house in Tn or North
Carolina???

Would love to hear any ideas anyone out there has about it!!!

Thanks!
Caroline
