Georgia Vera Hall b. 14 Aug 1898 daughter of William Pullen Hall and Laura
Austin.
Georgia married a Henchy Beck. Do any of the Becks out there happen to have
any dates on him or his parents?
Thanks
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne - From the archives of the Tennessee State Library I got
information about my Beck relatives who served in World War I. On the same
sheet of paper was the following information: "BECK, Henchey L. OS;
1,875,485; W.; Dickson, Tenn; Ind: Dickson, Tenn. on Oct. 3/17; Born: Burns,
Tenn; Age: 26-5/12 Yrs; Org: Co E. 328 Inf to Oct. 14/17; Co C 318 MG Bn to
disch; Grades: Pvt 1st cl Jan 1/18, Corp May 24/18, Sgt June 18/19; OS: Fr.
July 30/18 to June 20/19; Hon. disch: June 27/19; Was reported 10 per cent
disabled on date of discharge, in view of occupation." Henchey was not a
relative of mine, but I held onto this information in case I ever ran across
someone who might find it helpful. Hope it helps you. In case you are not
familiar with military "jargon" I will interpret some of the "shorthand" for
you. "OS" would stand for overseas. The numbers 1,875,465 was his Army
serial #. "Ind" stood for inducted. "Hon. disch." was honorable discharge.
Regards - Paul Beck
