Hello Dickson Co. TN List subscribers,

I'm a new subscriber to the list -- my name is Terry
Carpenter, and I'm looking for information about John B.
CARPENTER, born about 1814 in VA, who married about 1840 in
Dickson Co. TN to Mary A. NAPIER, who was born 1816 in TN
and died 1887 or 1897, a daughter of Thomas NAPIER of
Dickson Co. TN (likely related to the NAPIER family
described on the Biographical Information section of the
Dickson Co. RootsWeb page).

John B. and Mary A. (NAPIER) CARPENTER were enumerated in
Dickson Co. TN at the 1850 census, but I have not found
them in 1840 or 1860. Descendants are later found in Maury
Co. TN. I also have not been able to find their exact date
of marriage, or any property ownership records. I am
hoping to find their marriage record, and any other
information about them that might help connect them back to
one of the several CARPENTER lines in the South at that
time. All help is appreciated, and I have lots of
CARPENTER data that I am always happy to share. I don't
have a lot of data on Dickson Co., but I always read the
messages and will help if I can.
