I guess the Haley-Redden Cemetery is where my folks are buried. I mentioned
the Plunders Creek book because I'm looking for info on Andrew Haley and
Carrie Dossett. Spence's History of Hickman Co states he was one of the
first to locate on Plunders Creek in 1810, but he and Carrie did not marry
until 1817 and did not leave Orange Co NC until after the death of Willis
Monk in 1824. They show up on the Maury Co census in 1830 and the Dickson Co
1840,1850,1860 census records. He did however receive a grant in 1849 off of
Plunders Creek in Hickman Co. I thought if he didnt live on the land maybe
one of his children, Simpson, or Cynthia Haley Monk did. Also thought that
the book might give a hint to his date of death. I also need to apologize
for not ending the last email with my name.
Thanks for your time, Todd Haley

Michelle,
There are two Redden cemeteries. One listed in the Hickman Co. Cemetery
Book, Part II, gives these directions:
Redden Cemetery is on Hwy. 48 in a field on the left as one goes to
Dickson from Centerville. It is fenced and well kept. (In one or two
obituaries I have seen, this cemetery was called the Haley-Redden
Cemetery.)

#2 Redden Cemetery, listed in Dickson Co. Cemetery Book, Part I:
"Located on Dickson-Hickman Co. line. A very overgrown faint road leads
to this cemetery. We were taken to this cemetery by Terry (age 10), Mary
Ann (8), and Carol Ann (5) Betty. Without them, we would never have
found the cemetery. The old Redden log house is still standing on the
bank of Piney River. The cemetery is just east of the old home, about a
mile from the highway. Cemetery is in good condition." Listed 13
November 1966 by Lula Belle Hopkins and Iris H. McClain, with the help of
the Betty children.

Another obituary I have read listed the place of burial as the "Wiley
Redden Cemetery". I don't know if that is one of these or another. So
many people had their little family plots on their own property. I've
never seen a place of burial for Wiley Redden, so I'm not sure where he
is. The cemetery listed in the Dickson burial book is where John Sevier
Redden and his wife are buried.

We have a copy of Plunders Creek in our library. Tell me what you are
looking for and I will try to look for it sometime this week.

Charlotte
