William,
Aren't you supposed to have a connection with the Hayes family? Well, Aunt
Pearl (my great-grandmother) had some kind of "gift". When I was a kid, I
thought maybe she was a gypsy! She was one of those people that, if you had
a wart, she would sit and talk to you while rubbing the wart. The next day,
the wart would be gone. Aunt Pearl also had a "mean streak" but I'm told
that the Hayes' were "mean" people! My step-mom was scared to death of her.
About a year before she died, Aunt Pearl told Mama that if Mama didn't do
something (I don't remember what is was), Aunt Pearl was going to come back
and haunt her. Believe me, Mama wasted no time doing whatever Aunt Pearl
wanted! <LOL>
BUT---in reference to another message---
I know what you mean about "general faith". I guess it's kind of like a rut
people have gotten themselves into--a dull, boring, routine! It makes me
wonder how these people handle a real crisis. Believe me, I have been
through several "major" crises in the past few years. I don't understand
the people that tell me they don't know how I "survived" some of these
mountains. I guess they just don't have the right kind of faith---and can't
move those mountains!
Sandy
