This info. was posted on another list I'm on. Seems like a good idea.

The year 2000 is a Census Year.

Most of the census will be taken by mail.

After you have filled out your census form why not make a
copy of it and file with your important (genealogy) papers.

Then your family will not have to wait 70 years to learn about you.

In addition, you could help to take the Census as I and my husband are
doing. I really wanted to participate in this one----wonder if we will get
to put our names at the bottom of the Census as they did in years past?
Wouldn't that be something for our great-grandchildren to see! You can bet
that we will do everything we can to ensure names are spelled correctly and
that our handwriting is legible!
