Hello!

I saw your post on the Di Co. Mail List. I am compiling info for a book on
the residents of Di Co., TN, in 1850. James Hays and wife Mary Bartee were
family # 189 on this census. Wm. W. Mitchell and wife, Arabella were family
# 971. Unfortunately, I don't have any info to give you as these are 2
families about whom I have little more than what is on the 1850 census.

In my book I am going to have a page for each family on the 1850 census (page
#'s will correspond to family #'s from the 1850 Census). I hope to have a 3
generation outline for each family. I would like to publish the name,
address, and e-mail of someone currently researching or directly related to
each family on the 1850 census. I do not have anyone to list for families #
189 or #971. Would you be interested in having your name published for these
families? If so, please contact me.

I am planning on publishing the first printing of the book by the end of
2000. It will be titled, "Gon But Not Forgoten," A Guide to the Residents
of Dickson County, TN, 1850. On a back flyleaf of my great grandmother's
bible she recorded and signed the names and dates of her parents, along with
the phrase, "gon but not forgoten." My book will be in loose leaf form so
that future printings will only be of pages with new information. I know
that the first printing will not be complete. As people use the book, I hope
they will contact me and/or those listed on each family page so that each
update will be more complete.

I could not undertake such a large project without the help of many people,
who have shared information with me. I look forward to hearing from you and
hope we can help each other.

Regards, Carolyn Nelson
