Hello, I am new to the list. My name is Angie and I am from Coeburn, VA.
That is in the southwestern tip of the state. I am researching BOND,
SALYER, KENT
CATES, TOLBERT, CLARK, HIMES and a few others.

In TN I am looking for CATES and HIMES. I have searched most of West TN via
internet opportunities for Bishop H. CATES b. abt 1899 d. 1926 and Ola
Mae HIMES, b? sometime around Bishop's and d? sometime after 1926.

They had two children: James Herschel CATES b. 2/16/1918 ( my maternal
grandfather) and Ernest b. 1921 d.1986 in Rockwood, TN.

The only info that I have on them is : Bishop and Ola Mae lived in
Columbia or Jackson TN on a farm. When Bishop died, the farm was sold and
Ola Mae moved to her parents which was in Jackson or Columbia (which ever
was not where the farm was located) and she died sometime shortly
thereafter leaving the 2 boys, James and Ernest. Ola Mae's sister (I think)
Jodie Cupp and her husband Morris Cupp took the children into their home and
raised them. Their home was located in Rockwood, TN, as far as I know.

I have made my only living grandmother made at me for doing this research
and snooping in history where she thinks I have no business and she refuses
to share any more information with me. She has photos of the cemetery where
Bishop CATES was buried but does not remember the name. Therefore, I am
searching every available internet site for any leads.
