McNABB, LEIRON PARROTT - 74 of Oak Ridge,
McNABB, LEIRON PARROTT - 74 of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at
the Methodist Medical Center. She was born May 31, 1931 in Pickett County, TN,
the daughter of Herman and Ermon Parris Parrott. Mrs. McNabb graduated from
Pickett County High School and from Tennessee Tech in 1953 with a degree in
Vocational Home Economics Education. In 1955 she moved to Oak Ridge with her
husband. She received her masters in education from the University of Tennessee.
She taught Special Education for 20 years, earning the Level III teacher
designation and was named Roane County Teacher of the Year. She was a member of Kern
United Methodist Church for 50 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNabb
was preceded in death by: brother, Harold Parrott of Columbia; and
brother-in-law, R. D. Lee of Battle Creek, MI. She is survived by: her loving husband of
52 years, Jim McNabb; children, Vicki Black and her husband, Joe of Duluth, GA
and Alan McNabb and his wife Jane of Decatur, GA; grandsons, Joseph Black,
John McNabb, Daniel McNabb and David McNabb; sister-in-law, Claudell Parrott of
Columbia; brothers, Clay Parrott and wife Shirley of Farragut and Gene Parrott
and wife Mary Lou of Knoxville; sisters, Evelyn Lee of Battle Creek, MI and
Ann Smith and husband Will Herman Smith of Antioch; and many cousins, nieces
and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Wells, his staff and the
nurses and staff of the Methodist Medical Center for their care, friendship and
support provided for her over the years. Funeral services are Wednesday,
November 16, 2005 at 10:00am at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Mark Flynn
officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that
any memorials be in the form of contributions to a charity of the donor's
choice. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm at Weatherford
