Isaac Carroll
Issac Carroll, 83,Rt.6, Reynolds St.,Clinton,died on Sunday,Oct.7,at the Methodist Medica Center,in Oak Ridge.
He was born on July 14,1907,in Anderson County and was a coal miner.Hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Church membership was with the Red Oak Gap Baptist Church in Devonia.He was preceded in death by
parents,Calvin and Sally Carroll.Survivors include wife, Ellen Carroll of Clinton, eight daughters and sons-in-law,
Sarah and Billy Jones, Mary and Mack Murphy, Becky and Ron Reece, Dora and Houston Cook and
Eva and Mike Holt, all of Clinton, Janice and Kile McDowell of Caryville, Lois and Jimmy Brown and
Aslee and Danny Miracle,all of Lafollette.He is also survived by three sons and daughters-in-law,
Daniel and Arlene Carroll of Lafollette,Bill and Sylvia Carroll of Newcomb and Randle and Debbie Carroll
of Clinton, Johnny Carroll of Caryville.Mr.Carroll is also survived by one brother, Jasper Carroll of Tazewell,
mother-in-law, Sally Phillips of Oak Ridge, 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral servcies were Tuesday ,Oct 9, at 2p.m. at Red Oak Gap Baptist Church and burial followed at
Jones Cemetery in Devonia.The Rev.Pitney Seiber officiated.

Minnie Phillips Daugherty
Minnie Phillips Daugherty,75, of Devonia,died Friday Oct.5.at her daughter's home.
A member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a homemaker,she was preceded in death by her husband,
Horace Daugherty,and daughter, Hazel Marie West.She is survived bu daughter and son-in-law,
Jewel and Elmer Phillips of Devonia,whom she lived with the last several years of her life.
daughter, Shelby McKamey of Caryville,and son-in-law, Emory West of Coalfield.Also a special
niece, Marcella Jones of Devonia,sister, Martha Oaks of Appalachia,Va., and two brothers,
Thomas Ray Phillips of Devonia,and Edward Phillips of Ohio.Services were held on Sunday Oct 7,
at Shiloh Baptist Church and the Rev.Edwin Phillips officiated.Burial was immediately followed the
service at Phillips Cemetery in Devonia.
