JOHNSON, EARL D. "COTTON" - age 92 of Lake City, TN, passed away Sunday,
October 30, 2005, at the Tri-County Extended Care Facility in Fairfield, Ohio. He
was born October 19, 1913 in Anderson County, TN to the late Hugh & Bertha
Pickle Johnson. He was a member of the Lake City Christian Fellowship. Cotton was
a retired Coal Miner and member of the UMWA. He is preceded in death by: his
parents; wife, Mary Elizabeth Housley Johnson; daughter-in- law, Senie
Johnson; and niece, Betty Jo Johnson. Survivors: son, Roy D. Johnson, Cincinnati,
Ohio; grandchildren, Rick Johnson, Cincinnati, Ohio, Leroy Johnson, Cincinnati,
Ohio, Scott Johnson, Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia Rudder, Cincinnati, Ohio, Lois
Ann Barker, Florida. Visitation 6- 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the
Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at
the Lake City Christian Fellowship with Pastor Justin Phillips officiating.
Interment to follow the funeral service at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City,
TN. Hatmaker Funeral Home of Lake City in charge of arrangements.

PHILLIPS, ITRESS RUTH MARIE HUNTER - age 76 of Lake City, TN, passed away
October 30, 2005, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born
January 11, 1929 in Petros, TN to the late Herbert and Pauline Dorothy Martin
Hunter. Ruth was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church. She loved gardening,
flowers, reading, cooking and especially her grandchildren. Ruth is preceded
in death by: her parents; and husband, Alonzo "Lonnie" Phillips. Survivors:
sons, Herbert W. Phillips, Georgia; Lonnie Phillips, Jr., Lake City, TN; Robert
S. Phillips, Knoxville, TN; David W. Phillips, Ohio; daughters, Oma & Jerry
Taylor, Ohio; Dorothy M. Phillips, Lake City, TN; Shirley & David Hatmaker,
Ohio; Mary & Dennis Leinart, Briceville, TN; Karen E. Taylor, Lake City, TN;
Barbie & Mark Williams, Lake City, TN; Shara & Kevin Dunbar, Ohio; brother, J.R.
Hunter, Petros, TN; sister, Della Hunter, Petros, TN; 40 grandchildren; 46 great
grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation 6- 9:00 pm Tuesday,
November 1, 2005 and 6-8:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Clinch River
Baptist Church in Lake City, TN. Funeral service 8 pm Wednesday, November 2,
2005 at the Clinch River Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. The
Interment will be private. Hatmaker Funeral Home of Lake City in charge of
arrangements.

PYLES, MARIE - age 78 of Andersonville, went home to be with the Lord,
Sunday, October 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. She was an
active member of Andersonville United Methodist Church for 53 years. She loved
her God and her community. Marie is preceded in death by: parents, Roy and
Thelma Slover Hammons; brothers-in-law, Bill Leinart and Ralph Stooksbury.
Survivors: husband of 59 years, Delton W. Pyles of Andersonville; children, Bobbie
Gizey & husband Chuck of Hodgdon, ME, Darla Ervin & husband Bob of Seymour, Garry
Pyle & wife Angelisa of Andersonville; grandchildren, Kimberly Day, Sharon
Cornett, Jason Kelley, Georgia & husband James Merical, Samantha & husband
Dewayne West, Nikki & husband Jeff Johnson, Tyler Ervin, and Neil Ervin; great
grandchildren, Megan Kelley, Channa West, Alisa West, Leah West, and Ethan Shope;
sister, Francis Leinart of Florida; brother, Earl "Bud" Hammons & wife Faye
Clinton; brothers & sisters-in-law, Kennith & Bobbie Pyles, Lola Stooksbury,
Marvin & Linda Pyles, Jimmy Pyle, Don & Kaye Pyle, Marilyn Pyle; several nieces
and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, November
2, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the
Chapel with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Her burial will be 11:00 am, Thursday,
November 3, 2005 at Pyles Family Cemetery on Loyston Point Road,
Andersonville, TN. The family has requested memorials be made to Andersonville United
Methodist Church, 3944 Andersonville Highway, Andersonville, TN 37705.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.

RICHARDSON, EVERETT GORDON "RICH", JR. - age 80, began his life, July 8, 1925
at a favorite place, 80 Washington Street, Leominster, Mass. He passed away
on October 26, 2005 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. His
spirit passed through the door of Heaven and was received into the hands of our
Lord, Jesus Christ. He is still giving and helping others by donating his body
for research. Two weekly prayer groups were always a must on his calendar. He
served his country as a proud Marine in World War II. He was an active
volunteer in Oak Ridge and Knoxville for Habitat for Humanity, Meals On Wheels, The
Boy Scouts and Contact, you name it, he served them in many capacities. His
last and most enjoyable volunteer work was with The One Day Surgery at Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He cherished his volunteer friends, nurses and
doctors, in this and other sections of the hospital. He also was a very active
member and dedicated worker at The Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, Oak
Ridge. He taught Sunday School and helped whenever he was needed in any group
of the church. He was untiring in his efforts to serve his fellow man. He
worked 37 and a half years at The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in The Physics
Division with another set of cherished friends. He is survived by: his beloved
wife, Alice, who says he was "her pride and joy". They enjoyed twenty years of
trailer traveling, touring, cruising and just lazing around together. He was
particularly caring for wildlife at home and around the world. He leaves his
favorite friend, his dog, Pepper. Surviving children are: Rebecca and Eddie
Collier, granddaughter, Alisha and great- grandson Austyn; children, Buddy and
Sharon Rogers, Debbie and Mike Henderlight and a grandson, Justin. Other children
are Mike and Linda, Jorjan, Wade and Teresa Richardson and Beth Beams;
grandchildren Chester, John, Kelley, Laurel, Josh, Jorja, Jack and Matthew;
great-grandchildren, Jade, Alexus and Anna. There will be a Memorial Service November 6
at 6:00 p.m. at Kern Memorial United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge,
Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, please give to Kern Church, Mended Hearts, Inc.
(Methodist Hospital), The American Heart Association or Skin and Bone Donor
Organization. Thanks for remembering Rich in this way.

RIDDLE, PAUL H. - age 78, died peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2005 at
Shannondale Nursing Home surrounded by family and friends. He was a member of
Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired after 40 years of service
at Martin Marietta as a Computer Specialist. He was born October 3, 1927 to the
late Robert L. and Vivian Riddle of Lake City. He is survived by: loving wife
of 57 years, Johnnie Lou; beloved daughter, Susan Wynne and husband Michael
Clabough of Knoxville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William K. and Merle
Stair of Maryville; sister-in-law, Winifired Martin of Norfolk, VA; brother-in-
law and sister-in-law, Lewis and Sue Hardin of Nashville; several nieces and
nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to extend special thanks
to all those on the fourth floor of Shannondale for their loving care of Paul.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Leach Cemetery in
Lake City, Wednesday, November 2nd at 2 pm. Rev. Fred E. West officiating. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian
Church or the Alzheimer's Assoc. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm
Tuesday at Weaver Funeral Home.
