JENKINS, REV. GARY - age 65 of Clinton, formerly of Robbinsville, NC,
RUCKER, OAKLEY DAVID "SLICK" - age 71, of California and formerly of Anderson
County,
JENKINS, REV. GARY - age 65 of Clinton, formerly of Robbinsville, NC, went
home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2005 9:30 am after a courageous battle
with cancer. He served as a beloved Pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church in
Heiskell, Tennessee for over 18 years. He served in the United States Navy from
1957-1960 aboard the USS Thursh. He is preceded in death by: his twin brother,
Larry Jenkins of Stanley, North Carolina. Survivors: loving wife of 44 years,
Helen Williams Jenkins of Clinton; children, Sandra & husband Steve Hensley of
Riverdale, GA, Kim & husband Sam Crisp of Robbinsville, NC, Tim & wife Cyndi Jen
kins of Maynardville, Jenny Jenkins Schultz of Clinton; grandchildren, Jesse &
wife Melissa Crisp, Adam, James, Thomas, Hailey, Calli and Nelson; parents,
Faset and Oneal Jenkins of Tapoco, NC; brothers, RD Jenkins of Ballground, GA,
David Jenkins of Maryville; sisters, Violet Williams of Tapoco, NC, Leona
Beasley of Robbinsville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive
friends 6:00-9:00 pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. His
funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Zion Hill
Baptist Church in Heiskell with Rev. Kenny Bowling and Rev. Jerry Copeland
officiating. The burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Zion Hill Baptist
Church Building Fund, 255 Foster Road, Heiskell, TN 37754. Holley-Gamble Funeral
Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
RUCKER, OAKLEY DAVID "SLICK" - age 71, of California and formerly of Anderson
County, passed away Friday, October 14, 2005. Funeral arrangements are
incomplete and will be announced by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
