McALISTER, NORMA DANIELS - age 77 of Oak Ridge,
PARTEN, ROBERT 'BOB' DAVID - age 84, of Oliver Springs
ROBINETTE, FRANK GEORGE - 87 of Oak Ridge,
McALISTER, NORMA DANIELS - age 77 of Oak Ridge, passed away August 6, 2005 at
Methodist Medical Center. Born December 12, 1927 in Knoxville, TN to the late
Theodore N. and Myrtle Bell Brewer Daniels. She enjoyed cross stitching. Mrs.
McAlister was survived by: her husband, D.G. McAlister of Oak Ridge; four
children, Daniel MrAlister and wife Carol, Chris McAlister and wife Debbie, Julie
Dowdy and husband Ken, Sandi Ballard; grandchildren, Jeremy and Josh
McAlister, Erin McAlister, Zach and Cody Dowdy; and six great-grandchildren. Services

PARTEN, ROBERT 'BOB' DAVID - age 84, a long-time resident of Oliver Springs
passed away Monday, August 08, 2005 at his home after a courageous one year and
nine months battle with cancer. He was born March 10, 1931 as the third
oldest in a family of six sons born to James Olen & Anna Belle Loveday Parten. Mr.
Parten graduated from Oliver Springs High School in 1948 and was an avid
farmer in Roane, Anderson and Morgan counties. Additionally, he was a businessman
and entrepreneur with extensive real estate interests in several counties in
the local area. He was a loyal member of the Omega Masonic Lodge No. 536 F. &
A.M., for forty-seven years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oliver
Springs. Mr. Parten retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1990 after
devoting 371/2 years of service at the Union Carbide Corporation, which later
became Martin Marietta Energy Systems. He was employed as a Health Physicist
and during the span of his career, he worked at two of the Oak Ridge facilities,
the Y-12 Plant and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). During his years
of service as a Health Physicist, his efforts were to provide radiation
exposure control to many areas, including several of the more hazardous work areas.
Mr. Parten was often one of the first respondents to emergency situations.
According to the family, he had a very strong work ethic and enjoyed working on
his farm property and spent many long hours there. Before his retirement from
Martin Marietta, he would spend full days at his job and then immediately go
to the farm working until nightfall. Preceded in death by: his parents, James
O. & Anna Belle Parten; wife, Lela Mae Borum Parten, who passed away in 1998
and had been his high school sweetheart, for 49 years at the time of her death;
eldest son, James David Parten, who died in an automobile accident in 1983.
Survivors: loving & devoted daughter, Melanie S. Parten, of the home, who has
served as her father's primary caretaker during his illness; sons, Robert F.
Parten & wife, Denice of Oliver Springs, Darrell W. Parten of Oliver Springs;
brothers, J.C. Parten & wife, Rosemary of Powell, Jack Parten & wife, Hannah of
Loudon, Don Parten & wife, Kathleen of Oliver Springs, Ted Parten of Wartburg,
Mike Parten & wife, Peggy of Kingston; grandchildren, David Parten, Suzanne M.
Tapp, Stephanie Henderson, Dawn Parten, Ashley Parten, Caitlin Parten, Robyn
Parten, Meghan Cox & husband, Quinton; great grandchildren, Sierra Cates,
Madison Tapp, Cheyenne Tapp, Rachel McAmis & Ethan Cox; special friends, Johnny
Harris, Babe Manis & James Bean; a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at
Sharp Funeral Home with a Masonic service held at 8:00 pm., at the funeral home.
Funeral service will immediately follow in the Chapel with Rev. Steve
McDonald, Rev. Kenny Stubbs and C.S. Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial and graveside
service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Oak Ridge Memorial
Park. Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs is in charge of all the
arrangements.
ROBINETTE, FRANK GEORGE - 87 of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, August 7, 2005 at the
James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City. He was born May 31, 1918
in Morristown, the son of O. B. and Irene Dearing Robinette. Mr. Robinette was
a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. He was Master Sgt. in the 82nd
Airborne Division Headquarters Battery 319th Glider Field Artillery Battalion
and worked part-time as Provost Marshall, in Supply and Commander of Headquarter
Company. He was in the Rhineland, Sicilian, Naples-Foggia and he was among
the first troupes to parachute into Normandy for the Normandy Invasion. He was
wounded three times and was taken Prisoner of War while in Germany. He earned
the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Service Ribbon with 4 bronze stars,
Distinguished Unit Badge and the Purple Heart. He retired from Union Carbide Corp. -
X-10 where he was a millwright. He was a member of Robertsville Baptist
church, the Elks Club and the American Legion. He also enjoyed attending meetings
at the Disabled Veterans of America. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by: his wife of 55 years, Myrtle Hammonds Robinette, February 8,
1998; infant son, Stephen Robinette; sister, Mary Belle Robinette and brother,
E. C. Robinette. He is survived by: daughters, Frankie Kay Jones of Oak Ridge
and Theresa Calfee of Cleveland; sister, Aileen Fezell of Greeneville; 4
grandchildren, Laura Kay Wyatt and husband Nicholas of Oak Ridge, Susan Muhonen and
husband Luke, Amy Criddle and husband Scott and Sarah Calfee, all of
Cleveland; 5 great grandchildren, Nathan Michael Wyatt, Stephen Muhonen, Anna Muhonen,
Katelyn Criddle and Brian Criddle; and special friend, Alice Merritt of
Johnson City. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 8:00pm at
Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Michael Prince officiating. Graveside services are
Thursday at 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors provided by
the Veterans United Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday
from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary. An on-line guest book can be
